First Week of School

First Week of School (SMKDJ)

The very first week of the first school semester. Some dread it, while others look forward to it.
To me, neither of both mattered.

A month of holiday might sound good to take a break after a long year of hard work and constant
studying to prepare for PT3, but after a week or so, you start to get that feeling of missing being
with your friends in school, doing activities together.
(not group work with random people that don't know each other really well)

New semester, new class, new classmates and a whole new timetable to memorize.
First week is always pretty exciting, since you get to meet your friends again after a long month.
What's more exciting is that the classes. While some might be boring, others can be quite fascinating.

Since it's the first week, nothing much other than normal classes and longer than average speeches
from Mr.Ganapathy. The changes for co-curriculum were quite interesting too,
but transporters might have some trouble adapting to it.

This year’s class streaming split my former classmates into different class.
Some of them still retained their friendliness, while others… not so much.
Let's hope that's just the effect of stress on the first week of school.

This pretty much sums it up for the first week.
I am looking forward to whatever that might happen for the rest of the year.

Cheers.

Chua.

  1. Hello Weng Hwang! I love your essay and especially the choice of words you have used. Your essay motivates me to be more sociable among our classmate and I can really relate to what you are feeling. I literally feel extremely awkward as I came to my new class and I am more used to my old class last year. I do not struggle with the problem of not talking to to others as now I feel much more comfortable among our classmates. Have you got use to our new friends and if no, how can you get closer to them?

  2. I certainly love your wonderful , wonderful and fantastically wonderful choice of font and word color. It is soooo eye catching that even I am thinking of doing it myself.

  3. It is hard to adapt to new environments but it has been quite a long time since you wrote this blog so I hope you are doing better. Don't be too attached to people from your former class because some of them does not even care and you shouldn't too.

Writing a 10 word story

Welcome back folks. Sadly, it seems that third time isn't a charm. Oh well, back to basics. Anyway, I hope you had a good week. I'm sure many of you had written essays throughout your lifetime. Whether its an essay for school which is usually 200 ~ 400 words long, a story (length may vary) or even a thesis paper (thousands). Depending on your age and level of English education of course. Personal record, 13 thousand words in a story named Chrono Switch . I assume you already read the title and hence clicked on this post for... actually why did you clicked on this post? Either way, we were instructed to write a ten word story, with the word "spooky" being mandatory in the story. And with Halloween coming around the corner, I can see why they picked that specific word. I too, enjoy writing weird story that are outfitted with details and character development. So writing a ten word story is quite an interesting challenge. Coming up with something with a broad theme...

The Philosophy of Tetris

"I am the man who arranges the blocks, that continue to fall from up above..." I believe most of you of you know what Tetris is. Most of you are likely to have played it, or at least heard about it. Be it the charming 8-bit music, the satisfying beep after a line is completed, or just the blocks that fall into place one by one, filling the gaps, I"m sure that we all can agree upon the fact that Tetris is one of the best classic game we have ever played. While I was revisiting the game, trying to break another player's high score, I realize that, even in a simple game such as Tetris, which has the main goal of trying to get the best score you can through stacking blocks and aligning them, I can't help but think of the true meaning of Tetris. So today, let's explore the philosophy behind the Tetris. Keep in mind, that this is my opinion. Feel free to judge... constructively. First concept You don't have to be perfect to fit in Before we jump into...

Preparation, presentation and post-mortem of the presentation my group sketch: Flame

1. Learning Process The process of preparing for the sketch was actually quite fun and interesting. Being placed in a group of boys without any girls, and a story that consists of both genders, we had to take drastic measures  to act out all of the existing characters in the sketch. All of us learned quite of a lot of new things during the sketch. I feel more confident after the act due to how you have to "get out there" and actually perform the character you are assigned to.Besides, it strengthen the bond between me and my friends who were in the same group. A lot of effort was put into the script to make sure everything was right. Everyone had their own role and their own dialogues. During the presentation, we presented the entire story with little to no problems aside from forgetting which character we were supposed to act. (*cough* Meghann *cough*) If we could make it better, my guess would be using actual equipment and actually grasping the characteristics of our ...
