Road Run 2018 SMKDJ

So Road Run 2018 just happened. Unfortunately, I wasn't participating in the running and went participating for First Aid duty. Hopefully I'd get a chance to participate in running next year. Anyway, this is how it went !

Many of the runners have been practicing for the past few weeks, running the same route over and over again during house practice. The only thing that separates them from first place is stamina and speed. Oh, and a sense of direction too. I've seen a fair few runners that ran the wrong way. Oops !

It's quite lucky that this year's Road Run we did not have any serious casualties. Let's hope it stays the same next year.

I did joined road run last year. It was fun to some extent, minus the nausea part. Guess I'm not built for long distance running. The practices were okay, and I could achieve a reasonable speed but still to no avail slower than other people. Running along with a few friends in the same speed, we get to have a chat as none of us are hardcore runners like the others. Needless to say none of us got into the top 30.

It was tiring, but the experience we gain was worth it.

That's all for this blog post.

Writing a 10 word story

Welcome back folks. Sadly, it seems that third time isn't a charm. Oh well, back to basics. Anyway, I hope you had a good week. I'm sure many of you had written essays throughout your lifetime. Whether its an essay for school which is usually 200 ~ 400 words long, a story (length may vary) or even a thesis paper (thousands). Depending on your age and level of English education of course. Personal record, 13 thousand words in a story named Chrono Switch . I assume you already read the title and hence clicked on this post for... actually why did you clicked on this post? Either way, we were instructed to write a ten word story, with the word "spooky" being mandatory in the story. And with Halloween coming around the corner, I can see why they picked that specific word. I too, enjoy writing weird story that are outfitted with details and character development. So writing a ten word story is quite an interesting challenge. Coming up with something with a broad theme...

The Philosophy of Tetris

"I am the man who arranges the blocks, that continue to fall from up above..." I believe most of you of you know what Tetris is. Most of you are likely to have played it, or at least heard about it. Be it the charming 8-bit music, the satisfying beep after a line is completed, or just the blocks that fall into place one by one, filling the gaps, I"m sure that we all can agree upon the fact that Tetris is one of the best classic game we have ever played. While I was revisiting the game, trying to break another player's high score, I realize that, even in a simple game such as Tetris, which has the main goal of trying to get the best score you can through stacking blocks and aligning them, I can't help but think of the true meaning of Tetris. So today, let's explore the philosophy behind the Tetris. Keep in mind, that this is my opinion. Feel free to judge... constructively. First concept You don't have to be perfect to fit in Before we jump into...

Gaia's Tragedy, 1

E. I'm bored and I don't think anyone is going to read blogs any longer so I decided to write some stuff. Blogs discussing stuff will be back on next week lol if anyone reads this. --- Year 2077 Venus. Once thought inhabitable by the sapiens of Earth, now terra-formed into a habitable planets with cities hovering above the volcanic plains of Venus. Earth has long established contact with several alien groups from other galaxies, and now Venus, also known as the third home of the humans, turns into a stop for weary interstellar travelers. In the bar, many stop by to enjoy alcohol made with exotic goods, and to share stories while adventuring out in the vastness of space. One corner of the bar is such, filled with tales of tragedy and triumphs, hosted by an man named Larry. Larry Perkins. My crew and I got off the starship Nemesis after a long trip to the Andromeda galaxy, liberating planets claimed by rebels and exploring unknown worlds. Many of us wanted to rest, and m...
