Preparation, presentation and post-mortem of the presentation my group sketch: Flame

1. Learning Process

The process of preparing for the sketch was actually quite fun and interesting. Being placed in a group of boys without any girls, and a story that consists of both genders, we had to take drastic measures to act out all of the existing characters in the sketch.

All of us learned quite of a lot of new things during the sketch. I feel more confident after the act due to how you have to "get out there" and actually perform the character you are assigned to.Besides, it strengthen the bond between me and my friends who were in the same group.

A lot of effort was put into the script to make sure everything was right. Everyone had their own role and their own dialogues. During the presentation, we presented the entire story with little to no problems aside from forgetting which character we were supposed to act. (*cough* Meghann *cough*) If we could make it better, my guess would be using actual equipment and actually grasping the characteristics of our characters.

2. The story of the sketch.

The name of the short story is Flame.

The main characters of this story are Nimei, Hsu Peng, and Jiang Bing. Nimei is the head nurse at a hospital, Hsu Peng is Nimei's ex-lover while Jiang Bing is Nimei's husband. The story took place in China, somewhere near the SongHua River.

What I've learned from the story is that you should always be thankful for what you have. Nimei had always been cold to her husband, Jiang Bing, after their planned marriage. She wishes to go back to her ex-lover, Hsu Peng, despite having a happy family.

Optimism / Pessimism Bias

Welcome back, friends. Exam weeks was long and harsh, but now it's over. Hooray! As for the blog posts, they're starting again and this time, oh boy, free topic for days (at least I hope so). So fasten your seat belts as we explore more random topics for no apparent reason. Today's Topic : Optimism/Pessimism Bias "Great, another bias. What's next? K-Drama bias? Anime bias? Jeez, at least talk about something positive." Well, positive things aren't always fun to write. So... cliche and boring. I rather dig into negative stuff just to find out what causes them and how we can solve them. Doesn't  that sound positive to you? Either way, let's jump into today's topic. I'm going to cover both Optimism bias and Pessimism bias in the same blog post, because they usually are found together in a statement. But before that, let's ask ourselves this common question that is used to test optimism and pessimism. Is the cup half full or h...

ICT-ton and Carnival 2018

Well it's sad to say I missed this one purely because I was busy and no other reason. So I'm going to sum the event up through friends' experiences. To start off, there was a senamrobik activity in the morning. This is quite weird as... you know... it's a carnival.... not Sports Day to be exact. Nevertheless, that happened. I'm guessing most of the participants weren't wearing the proper attire as they didn't get the memo till the last minute. Besides, there was a dunking game that was setup by the Scouts. Though I didn't go to the carnival personally, a few clips circulated around social media such as Facebook and Instagram and that's how I know Joash from 4 Balau got dunked. Mr James that was a former teacher in the school along with Pn Lau got dunked as well. Lastly, the Teen Star Talent show. Again, I didn't go to the carnival so I do not know half of what happened during the event, but the highlight of the carnival was Mr Ganapathy, th...

Isolation

S. Welcome back to another blog post folks, to preface this, this blog is going to be a long one, so um leave now if you don't like that. Also, if anyone is here just to see what topic it is for this week... uhm, don't. Because I chose to do a free topic here and did my literature essay in my literature book. So yeah, let's begin. Homo Sapiens . The only species from the genus Homo still exists. Of course, we have half-Neanderthals living around the world, but for the sake of this blog post, let's just say that we only have Homo Sapiens  around, okay? Once upon a time on Earth, there are several species from the genus Homo , 15, in fact, so far. Yet, as of today, 2019, we only know of one that successfully persisted through several wars and famine, disasters and conflicts, the Homo Sapiens . We built civilization from the ground up, stemming from rivers of the world, then conquering the world itself.  As much as I would like to talk about Homo Sapiens an...
