Free Topic. yay.

Right, our generous teacher decides to give us another free topic. Awesome ! Today, I'll be talking about one of the fundamental thing that results in... well... our society today. One thing that always gets underestimated and taken for granted. The invention of the written language. We don't seem to care about the origin of writings, and or how it developed into the sophisticated thing we use on a daily basis today. As me and most of the Form 4 students have already learnt that written language is born from different civilizations, each with different styles of writing and obviously language. Greeks write Latin, Chinese writes Chinese characters, so on and so forth. Our story starts in the Bronze Age, where civilizations such as Mesopotamia and Ancient Egypt were on the rise. With groups of people, you form a community, with community we form a society. Society requires resources, like food, metal, clay and other materials to function. When you don't have certa...

The changes/progress my country has experienced from 9.5.2018 till today...

...And other changes I would like to see in the future. 9/5/2018 was a historical moment for our country, Malaysia. It is the first time where our country switched our governing party since our independence. It is the moment where, for once, every single person of our country stood up against the obviously flawed and rigged and election, and fought for a new, a government that is much more capable than the last. As soon as the cabinet changed, our new governing party, Pakatan Harapan, initiated a flurry of actions that would slowly bear fruit with the help of Father Time. One such action was the downfall of GST, or Goods and Service Tax if you will. It was reduced to 0%. This, obviously improved lives for everyone. Following that, petroleum prices that used to changed every single Wednesday was stabilized. That means no more gambling whether to fill up or not anymore ! And perhaps the most important of all, the investigation of the 1MDB scandal. I wonder our last pri...

HURRAH A FREE TOPIC

Finally, after a long time, we finally get a free topic to discuss. Simply marvelous ! So, even though everyone would probably disagree/ not read this, but I would love to share some WW2 stories. Have you ever heard of the myth, "Carrots will improve your eyesight." ? It is a very common myth, usually spread by mothers in an effort to encourage their children to eat carrots on their plates. But, has anyone ever told you where the myth came from ? As I said at the first paragraph, this myth obviously came from WW2. During World War 2,  the British Royal Air Force developed new and improved radar technology. This helped them to fight back the Luftwaffe planes during the dead of night, as German fighters bomb various strategic and civilian targets, such as certain air force bases, ports and cities to cripple Britain and forcing them to surrender. The invention of the new radar technology was really successful. Due to the conditions of the war, black-out events, where e...

Should Ladies Accept Jobs That Take Them Away From Home Excessively?

I find this topic really unnerving as a equal-rights supporter. Seriously ? Anyway, moving on from the obvious feminist topic, to some extent, I would agree with the topic. Allow me to explain. Women are the foundation of society. Without them, we wouldn't have families, and without families we wouldn't have a community, so on and so forth. So yes, it's true that women should not accept jobs that take them away from home excessively. However, at this day and age, where women and men are pretty much on equal terms in, let's say, skills. A man can be a chef, a woman can be a machine-operator. I don't get the gender politics debacle about gender having certain roles, but that might be because of our history in the world. Men has always been perceived as much more capable in various task, from a noble merchant, to a emperor. Times have changed. We all have multi-purpose roles. So, back to the topic. To some extent, yes, ladies should accept jobs that take them...
