My experience being part of a class play.

N.

Welcome back to another blog post folks. Exam week is upon us.

So, class play. Competition was on last Thursday, 28th February. Initially winner was 5 Balau, but who knows what will change the results. All in all, pretty fun yet stressful event for me. Evonne did get best actress so... That's something.
But Chua, why is it stressful?

I'm glad you ask, whoever you are. Or well, if you didn't ask, just enjoy the... drama. I'm sorry.
I was the main scriptwriter for 5 Belian 2k19. Volunteered in fact. It did quenched my everlasting thirst of writing a play, but, after experiencing that, I feel like it's not worth it, or maybe I'm just pathetic at writing.

There's a reason why this is stressful. It's a class drama, hence cohesion among everyone participating has to be there. Otherwise everything falls apart. And guess what, it did. We couldn't agree on a plot until 2 weeks before the drama competition, and then internal conflicts further broke the team. But, alas, our team still held up, and manage to perform.

As for my part, I wasn't satisfied by the class script after seeing what the other classes were doing. Disappointed in fact. We've could've done something much more exciting, but nonetheless majority votes out and we decided to... In a way... play safe.

To summarize, we could have done better. But a mass group project like this? I rather not since getting everyone to cooperate is a chore. It was fun though, I'll admit. But, the effort to reward ratio is simply not great.

Good luck for your exams folks. Have a nice day.
Cheers,
Chua.

Writing a 10 word story

Welcome back folks. Sadly, it seems that third time isn't a charm. Oh well, back to basics. Anyway, I hope you had a good week. I'm sure many of you had written essays throughout your lifetime. Whether its an essay for school which is usually 200 ~ 400 words long, a story (length may vary) or even a thesis paper (thousands). Depending on your age and level of English education of course. Personal record, 13 thousand words in a story named Chrono Switch . I assume you already read the title and hence clicked on this post for... actually why did you clicked on this post? Either way, we were instructed to write a ten word story, with the word "spooky" being mandatory in the story. And with Halloween coming around the corner, I can see why they picked that specific word. I too, enjoy writing weird story that are outfitted with details and character development. So writing a ten word story is quite an interesting challenge. Coming up with something with a broad theme...

The Philosophy of Tetris

"I am the man who arranges the blocks, that continue to fall from up above..." I believe most of you of you know what Tetris is. Most of you are likely to have played it, or at least heard about it. Be it the charming 8-bit music, the satisfying beep after a line is completed, or just the blocks that fall into place one by one, filling the gaps, I"m sure that we all can agree upon the fact that Tetris is one of the best classic game we have ever played. While I was revisiting the game, trying to break another player's high score, I realize that, even in a simple game such as Tetris, which has the main goal of trying to get the best score you can through stacking blocks and aligning them, I can't help but think of the true meaning of Tetris. So today, let's explore the philosophy behind the Tetris. Keep in mind, that this is my opinion. Feel free to judge... constructively. First concept You don't have to be perfect to fit in Before we jump into...

Story starting with a sentence given by Pn Monica

L. ------ Ping.. My mobile phone lit up with a message from Pn. Monica.... It was a late Friday night, and after a long week people are surely tired and wanted to take a break. The message started a lot of distraught, since people wanted to take a break on a Saturday. "Please go to the library tomorrow. I have an important task for you." Sure enough, the request sparked a lot of questions in the group chat, varying from asking why do we have to go to school on a Saturday, or how important this task is, to mindless puns and jokes about said task. Following morning, we gathered in the library, chattering about what a hassle it is to get out of bed on a warm, cozy, Saturday morning. Just when the crowd began to get heated on discussing what they're going to do, Pn Monica emerges from her office, and carrying a thick book inscribed in an language that none of us has seen before. She place the thick book down on the table with a loud thump. "That's one h...
