Academic Day In School

Academic Day. The one day where either you as a student will dread, or love. Depends on your examination results and your overall performance in school...

It's a day where most parents take their time off to pay a visit to teachers responsible for that result of yours. Discussing how and why you failed... Civics ? Hmm, now I'm intrigued.

My parents didn't go as its the 21st century and everything requires more money than usual. So they were at work and couldn't care less to come. But as a prefect, I couldn't leave early anyway. So instead, I'll rely on other's experiences.

Some of the parents came around 7.00 am ~ which is quite impressive given how on the paper sent to every household said 7.30am. But hey, no one was sweating the details. Greeting and bowing to every parents that came by was pretty tiring, but as a prefect duty is always a priority. Wow that rhymed.

As time slowly passed by, so did the amount of parents that walked through the front gates. Smiled so hard that day my face was practically the Joker. avoided my crush for no reason but hey no one has to know.

Well.... I was one of the last three of my classmates to go back as previously mentioned, and we chilled in the library for awhile. Fun times...

Anyway, that was my experience for Academic school for the.... 10th time ? I don't know. It was pretty fun.

Cheers,
Chua.

Optimism / Pessimism Bias

Welcome back, friends. Exam weeks was long and harsh, but now it's over. Hooray! As for the blog posts, they're starting again and this time, oh boy, free topic for days (at least I hope so). So fasten your seat belts as we explore more random topics for no apparent reason. Today's Topic : Optimism/Pessimism Bias "Great, another bias. What's next? K-Drama bias? Anime bias? Jeez, at least talk about something positive." Well, positive things aren't always fun to write. So... cliche and boring. I rather dig into negative stuff just to find out what causes them and how we can solve them. Doesn't  that sound positive to you? Either way, let's jump into today's topic. I'm going to cover both Optimism bias and Pessimism bias in the same blog post, because they usually are found together in a statement. But before that, let's ask ourselves this common question that is used to test optimism and pessimism. Is the cup half full or h...

The Philosophy of Tetris

"I am the man who arranges the blocks, that continue to fall from up above..." I believe most of you of you know what Tetris is. Most of you are likely to have played it, or at least heard about it. Be it the charming 8-bit music, the satisfying beep after a line is completed, or just the blocks that fall into place one by one, filling the gaps, I"m sure that we all can agree upon the fact that Tetris is one of the best classic game we have ever played. While I was revisiting the game, trying to break another player's high score, I realize that, even in a simple game such as Tetris, which has the main goal of trying to get the best score you can through stacking blocks and aligning them, I can't help but think of the true meaning of Tetris. So today, let's explore the philosophy behind the Tetris. Keep in mind, that this is my opinion. Feel free to judge... constructively. First concept You don't have to be perfect to fit in Before we jump into...

Story starting with a sentence given by Pn Monica

L. ------ Ping.. My mobile phone lit up with a message from Pn. Monica.... It was a late Friday night, and after a long week people are surely tired and wanted to take a break. The message started a lot of distraught, since people wanted to take a break on a Saturday. "Please go to the library tomorrow. I have an important task for you." Sure enough, the request sparked a lot of questions in the group chat, varying from asking why do we have to go to school on a Saturday, or how important this task is, to mindless puns and jokes about said task. Following morning, we gathered in the library, chattering about what a hassle it is to get out of bed on a warm, cozy, Saturday morning. Just when the crowd began to get heated on discussing what they're going to do, Pn Monica emerges from her office, and carrying a thick book inscribed in an language that none of us has seen before. She place the thick book down on the table with a loud thump. "That's one h...
